A growing, multi-entity healthcare services organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager – OpEx to lead operating expense accounting across a complex, high-volume environment. This role will oversee month-end close, expense analysis, and process optimization, partnering closely with FP& A and operational leaders to drive financial visibility and control. This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to influence workflows, improve reporting, and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end close for operating expenses
Review and approve journal entries, accruals, and expense allocations
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
Manage OpEx reporting & analysis
Analyze trends, variances, and key drivers across departments and locations
Partner with FP& A on budget vs. actual reporting and forecasting support
Oversee expense accruals & allocations
Maintain consistency in expense recognition and cost distribution
Continuously improve allocation methodologies across a multi-unit environment
Process improvement & automation
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance controls
Drive system and reporting enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability
Team leadership
Supervise and develop accounting staff
Review work, provide mentorship, and ensure strong internal controls
Cross-functional collaboration
Partner with operations, procurement, and finance leadership
Support audits and provide necessary documentation/explanations

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or progress toward certification required
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership
Strong experience with month-end close and expense accounting
Background in multi-entity, high-volume environment (healthcare, retail, or services preferred)
Advanced Excel skills; experience with large ERP systems
