Job Summary Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is a provider of business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions. They are seeking a SQL Developer to design, develop, and maintain SQL scripts and data integration solutions that support custom applications, ensuring efficient data flow and application performance. Responsibilities • Actively contribute as a key member of a development team focused on building and maintaining data solutions for custom applications. • Design, develop, test, and debug SQL scripts, stored procedures, and SSIS packages following current coding standards and best practices. • Assist with development initiatives that involve creating complex data integration projects to support application functionality and ensure high-quality deliverables. • Collaborate with lead developers and team members to develop project user stories, manage backlogs, and plan sprints. • Be an integral part of an innovative and passionate team working on user stories, backlog items, and sprint goals, ensuring timely completion of deliverables. • Escalate technical issues and challenges as appropriate to ensure smooth project progress. • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for data-related application issues, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime. • Develop reusable SQL code and data solutions to reduce time to market, promote code consistency, increase scalability, and support agile application development. • Build high-performance data solutions, such as optimized stored procedures and queries, to ensure efficient data processing and application responsiveness. • Create and maintain data solutions with a security-first mindset, ensuring data integrity and compliance. • Collaborate with team members on integrating data solutions with other technologies and platforms, including REST API design and implementation when applicable. • Leverage continuous integration and automated build/test processes (e.g., Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub Actions) to streamline development workflows. • Utilize Entity Framework to develop data access layers, enabling efficient and maintainable interaction with databases within application development.
