Salary Range : $81,000 - $121,600 Annual Job Details The stated pay range is based on a national average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus-eligible. CNO Financial Group’s IT Team is hiring an Information Security Engineer to work hands on with various security tools and technologies to support the secure, efficient and effective use of those technologies through their lifecycle to help secure CNO’s electronic assets and data. The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining security technologies while continually looking for opportunities to optimize the implementation and operations of the technologies. The Information Security Engineer will maintain, design and implement security tools and technologies for the company. This role monitors and controls the performance and status of all security systems. The role is constantly looking for ways to optimize system resources to enhance the effectiveness and security of the environment. As an Information Security Engineer, your responsibilities will include: • Utilizing software and hardware tools to identify and diagnose problems affecting information security tools and systems providing 2nd and 3rd tier operational support. • Participating in projects as required; analyzing, designing, developing and implementing security solutions which protect the information assets while enabling business functionality. • Providing information security expertise and consulting to internal IT, Business staff and stakeholders. • Performing product and solution life cycle management ensuring capacity, integrity and availability of all security systems. • Aligning technologies to support overall CNO’s strategy and information security framework. • Planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining security-related technologies. • Ensuring new and existing products conform to information security policies, standards, and best practices. • Conducting research on emerging technologies in support of enterprise operations. • Reviewing new and existing system designs for compliance with security standards and best practices. The Information Security Engineer position is well-suited for you if you: • Have experience with systems and network administration and an understanding of security concepts, practices, procedures, and information security technologies (eg., End Point Security, Cloud Application Security, Key Management, Entra ID, Web Application Firewalls, Automation). • Understand information security policies, standards and regulatory requirements, optimization of processes, and automation technologies. • Possess cloud service knowledge and experience with common cloud services (Infrastructure as a Services, Platform as a Service or Software as a Service). What you’ll need: • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Business or related field, or equivalent professional experience • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or related technical discipline • Prior experience with Certificate Management, Cloud Application security tools, endpoint security tools, web application firewalls, SSO, and/or MFA What will set you apart: • A passion for staying up to date on emerging technologies and industry trends • Prior experience leveraging AI-driven technologies (AI agents, etc.) to enhance cybersecurity operations. • At least one relevant cybersecurity or IT certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent).
