You will play a pivotal role in stabilizing the legacy applications by delivering high-caliber UI/UX enhancements that redefine the digital experience for our customers at the EPA.<br><br>You work directly with our government customers and with other GDIT developers to create advanced software tools tailored to scientific applications. You’ll apply new approaches, principles, methods, techniques and tools compatible with the research environment within EPA. You’ll be a creative problem-solver, understand IT solutions from a users’ perspective and contribute to strategies for a modern integrated IT environment.  </p><p><br><b>MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT</b><br>The Senior UI Developer requires in-depth knowledge of developing web-based applications for both EPA internal and external users. The role involves supporting the design, development, programming, testing, and maintenance of multiple front-end applications that access chemical, exposure, ecology, and biology data. These applications will be enabled by backend services in the form of APIs/microservices, ensuring flexibility and scalability. The successful candidate will collaborate with Product Owners, Subject Matter Experts, Enterprise Architects, and developers to develop dynamic web applications using a fit-for-purpose technology stack. The successful candidate will refactor existing applications and develop prototypes into optimized, modular components for integration into new and existing applications. The role will document design and implementation techniques in Atlassian’s Confluence. Expertise in multiple frameworks, libraries, and modern technologies is required. The developer will support automated integration, system, security, user acceptance, and regression testing to deliver robust application performance. </p><p></p><p></p><p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><p>Lead the migration of the application’s Vue.js UI components and architecture from Nuxt 2 to Nuxt 3</p><ul><li>Refactor CCD UI components to work with Nuxt 3's Composition API alongside consuming CTX APIs</li><li>Update and optimize component state management strategies for Nuxt 3 compatibility</li><li>Handle and maintain legacy UI code bases<br><br> </li></ul><p><b>WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED</b></p><p>Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT.
