Skills and Competencies
  • 3+ years minimum of hands-on software development experience
  • Experience designing REST APIs
  • Experience building SaaS or PaaS solutions on public clouds
  • Knowledge of cloud and microservices-based architectures
  • Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others
  • Fast learner that can quickly synthesize ideas, information, and options into a strategy, plan, or response and effectively communicate it
  • Innovative and creative problem solver with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in a business environment, along with a proven ability to prioritize, organize and deliver on commitments
  • Product Management experience (SaaS product) preferred
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools—such as Copilot and ChatGPT—can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency
  • Interest in exploring agentic AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
Education
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Responsibilities
This role owns the strategy, design, delivery, and continuous improvement of public APIs that enable scalable, high‑quality integrations for customers and partners.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of public APIs, from discovery and design through delivery and continuous improvement
  • Define and maintain RESTful API designs using OpenAPI/Swagger, ensuring consistency, usability, versioning, and backward compatibility
  • Own API specifications, documentation, and developer experience to support self-service integrations
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to understand system design, data flows, technical constraints, and scalability considerations
  • Translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Collaborate directly with customers, client-side engineering teams, and users to understand integration needs and workflows
  • Act as a bridge between product, engineering, and customers, ensuring alignment across strategy, design, and execution
  • Drive the API product vision, roadmap, and prioritization in partnership with senior engineering and platform stakeholders
  • Support go-to-market activities, including release readiness and stakeholder communication
  • Stay current on API design best practices and industry standards

Within the Insurance Property & Specialty business, the team builds SaaS solutions that enable insurers, reinsurers, MGAs, and ILS investors to underwrite smarter, price risk accurately, optimize portfolio performance, and bring new products to market faster. These solutions are underpinned by the Intelligent Risk Platform, designed to streamline workflows across the insurance value chain and deliver a competitive edge in an ever‑evolving market.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $119,100.00 - $172,650.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moody’s also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
