About The Role In FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring organization, we focus on our clients’ strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. Within the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, Valuation and Financial Advisory Services (VFAS) is a fast-growing practice focused on providing business valuations, financial opinions, financial and strategic analysis, forecasting and transaction support services covering a broad spectrum of industries and situations. Our clients range from early stage to Fortune 500 companies, as well as capital market constituents globally. A Director will be responsible for helping lead day-to-day project management, client communications as well as overseeing a range of financial and valuation analyses across multiple projects simultaneously. What You’ll Do The Director will lead complex business valuation engagements for a range of purposes including M&A advisory (including sell and buy side advisory support and fairness & solvency opinions); financial restructuring; financial reporting, tax and regulatory compliance; and forensic and litigation disputes and arbitration support. Contribute to all aspects of a VFAS engagement from proposal development, scoping, information collection and processing through developing bespoke financial and valuation models, reviewing outputs and final delivery of work products. Lead the development and review of complex valuation models and other financial analyses prepared by VFAS personnel, including: Discounted cash flow analyses, including assessment of cash flow projections Guideline public company analyses Guideline transaction analyses Weighted average cost of capital (WACC) calculations Oversee, review and deliver detailed narrative reports that summarize and document the procedures performed, and methodologies relied on, to conduct various valuation analyses. Lead discussions with clients, including executives from Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, law firms, auditors and other institutions. Supervise and train multiple supporting staff in valuation, financial modeling and related subjects. Prepare thought pieces on valuation-related and/or industry-specific subjects for purposes of marketing, business and practice development. Demonstrate commitment to quality, client relationships, teamwork, furthering education, and practice development. Develop and maintain productive internal and external working relationships. What You Will Need To Succeed Basic Qualifications 5+ years of relevant post-graduate valuation-specific experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Liberal Arts or related field of study. Technical business valuation skills, with a detailed knowledge of fair value GAAP and SEC requirements. Strong Excel-based financial modeling capabilities. High aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis; with the ability to link business strategy to performance and due diligence findings. Ability to travel to FTI offices and client site(s) as needed Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Liberal Arts or related field of study.
