We are currently seeking a Sales Representative to join our AV Sales Team!

What will the work look like for me?

  • Leverage sales experience to strategically build relationships:
    • Understand and successfully articulate the benefits of indoor LED displays as compared to other technologies such as video walls and projection systems when appropriate.
    • Proactively cold call AV Integrators to educate on Daktronics products, create interest in reselling our display systems.
    • Utilize Daktronics guidelines to develop AV Integrator Sales Partners. Develop strategy to on-board target integrators, implement and adjust strategy as needed to develop relationship depth to develop business relationship with AV Integrators.
    • Collaborate with AV Sales team to gather market intelligence, effective strategies, competitor updates, and industry practices and share during AV Sales team meetings.
    • Understand project and customer needs, organize, and involve appropriate sales and support teams to best support the customer, includes but not limited to Project Management, Application Engineering, Legal, and Accounting.
    • Develop and present dynamic presentations in various settings including military briefings, media companies, architects, construction companies, and corporate business settings.
  • Plan, prioritize, and document sales activities:
    • Develop weekly sales plan to include, but not limited to, frequent travel to building relationships through customer meetings, presentations, trade shows, cold calls, and planned calls.
    • Utilize Salesforce to develop lists and schedules to proactively follow up on new leads and tasks to effectively manage time.
    • Utilize Challenger Sales concepts in the selling process.
    • Daily use of Salesforce to manage accounts, sales opportunities, leads, and all customer management functions.
    • Work schedule will include evenings, weekends, and overnight travel.

    • Develop an understanding of the AV Integrator business. The ability to discuss industry trends and provide industry insight is a critical aspect to becoming an “industry expert” for the integrator community.
    • Develop knowledge in control systems and integration, indoor high LED display products, installation requirements, service and support systems, and logistics.
  • Ability to earn trust.
    • Develop relationship depth with each AV Integrator you call on. Be able to provide an in-depth description of the organization. Build and maintain a network of individuals, both within and outside the organization.
    • Collaborate with other Daktronics sales teams to effectively support sales through AV Partners through coordination across Daktronics Markets.
  • Ability to thrive in challenging environments and situations.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
    • Participate in Factory Certified training program to learn NPN installation techniques and requirements.
    • Assist with NPN installations to develop deep understanding of equipment and skills to install an NPN display system.
    • Ability to explain and demonstrate to AV Integrators how NPN and Speedframe systems install and operate.
    • Leverage Daktronics experience to learn how Integrator provided control systems connect to NPN displays and explain basic control system operation to AV Integrators.

Where is this opportunity located?

This position allows the flexibility to work remote from a home office within the South Central Region (Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas) of the U.S. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

To be considered for our Sales Representative we require the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing, technical area, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.
  • The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements.
  • Daktronics does not sponsor, renew, or extend immigration visas for this position.

Desired traits:

  • Prefer three-five (3-5) years of field sales experience including negotiating and purchase agreements. Experience selling to or working in the Audio-Visual Industry is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with sales partners.
  • Strong computer skills to include but not limited to Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce, and LinkedIn.
  • Daily/weekly utilization of Salesforce to manage accounts is a requirement. Previous experience using Salesforce is a plus.
