We have a job opening and exciting career opportunity for a full-time Operations Lead in our Wichita, KS location. This position will serve as full time in aiding the leadership and direction of the warehouse operations, acting as a backup in the supervisor’s absence and assisting team members in their roles.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides leadership by example while performing tasks of a warehouse team member.
  • Must be able to learn and perform all job tasks including the VAI computer system, voice pick, running of route sheets, finding lost product, putting replenishments in transit and making sure transfers are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists in training new employees on voice pick and in general operation.
  • Communicates any observed issues or concerns to immediate supervisor for investigation.
  • Follows good housekeeping procedures and provides leadership in all areas.
  • Adheres to company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Works together with fellow associates as a team to promote the goals, profitability, and common good of the company; must work in a safe, efficient, and respectful manner with other personnel.
  • Acts as backup to Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
What You will Need to be Successful:
  • Previous warehouse/distribution experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent previous attendance history.
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized and customer service oriented.
  • Proficient in VAI as it pertains to warehouse functions is preferred.
  • Able to operate warehouse equipment and powered trucks as needed, as well as lift/pull/carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing/able to stand for entire shift, often over 8 hours.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be accurate and pay attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient math skills are required.
  • Must possess problem solving resolution skills and be able to work efficiently in a fast paced and often stressful environment.
  • Ability to function with diplomacy and tact in stressful situations is essential. Works well with others.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.
