Position Summary The Title Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring perfected liens on all collateralized consumer loans. The role assists the department in total losses, processing checks, credit disputes, monthly monitoring of reports, and loan servicing. This position delivers professional and efficient loan services to our internal and external customers and conducts transactions on member accounts accurately and in compliance with established policies, procedures and state and federal regulations. The position maintains knowledge of all products, services, and organizational policies and procedures. The Specialist must be able to work before or after hours, Saturdays and holidays on an as needed basis depending on the workload or special projects. The role must participate in training annually or as required for BSA and the Privacy Act. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Tile & Lien Processing Perfect credit union vehicle liens. Review and process title packets to complete lien assignments for Direct Lending. Follow up and collaborate with dealers and lenders to ensure accurate lien processing. Finalize service requests submitted by Frontline and Consumer Lending. Process and manage vehicle title change requests. Release titles based on the Paid-Out Report Serve as a resource for loan processors and branches to ensure required paperwork and processes are completed to perfect our lien. Communication & Service Communicate professionally and efficiently with all departments to promote teamwork and high-quality member service. Provide friendly and accurate service to internal and external customers. Attend required meetings and training sessions as requested. Reporting & Operational Support Monitor daily reports. Compile and maintain title reports for management review. Assist Loan Support with various tasks, as needed. Organizational Engagement Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions. Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities. Partner with leadership to support the credit union’s goal of being a top employer. Be available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays, based on workload and project needs. Perform other essential job functions as required or assigned. Travel on occasion may be required. Be available to work flexible hours including evenings, Saturdays, and holidays to meet member and business needs. Requirements Education and Experience High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. 1-2 years’ credit union or financial institution experience. 1-2 years’ customer service experience. 1-2 years’ experience with problem resolution. Certifications None Skills and Attributes Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven customer service skills. Strong problem resolution skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through with minimum supervision. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters, at all times. Good mathematical skills and abilities. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to maintain a professional appearance. Must be a leader and positive communicator for change when new processes/ procedures are introduced.
