The Staff Analyst will support the Administrative Services Division of the Applications and Tenancy Administration (ATAD) in advancing key priorities related to public housing admissions and tenancy processes. This role provides analytical, operational, and management support to ensure effective service delivery, compliance, and continuous process improvement.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of projects including but not limited to vacancy management, the certified wait list, trend analysis of performance metrics, and identification of areas for business improvement.</li><li> Create and revise department reports and oversee reporting requirements for the department, including submission of routine weekly and ad hoc reports. Use reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI to visualize key performance metrics.</li><li> Coordinate project implementation with key stakeholders, community members, and staff.</li><li> Assist in tracking, researching and answering Departmental Inquiries from applicants and tenants and departments such as intergovernmental, law, foil, executive office, management and external stakeholders.</li><li> Prepare and conduct additional analysis and other planning materials, as needed.</li><li> Participate in the evaluation of methods, procedures, and data obtained from various sources to ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of data.</li><li> Perform other duties as assigned.<br><br></li></ul>Additional Information<br><br><ul><li> Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have civil service status in the title of Staff Analyst to be considered.</li><li> INTERAGENCY TRANSFERS INTO NYCHA OF THOSE PERMANENT IN TITLE ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE FACE OF AN ACTIVE AND VIABLE NYCHA PROMOTION LIST OR PREFERRED IS FOR THE SAME TITLE.</li><li> NYCHA employees applying for promotional, title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year in their current title and level (if applicable).<br><br></li></ul>NYCHA provides benefits that include a choice of medical coverage plans, deferred compensation plans and a defined pension benefit plan as a member of the New York City Employees’ Retirement System (NYCERS).<br><br>NOTE: This position is open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program. For detailed information regarding the 55-a Program, click on the link below:<br><br> read this posting carefully to make certain you meet the qualification requirements before applying to this position.<br><br>STAFF ANALYST - 12626<br><br><strong>Minimum Qualifications<br><br></strong>A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or<br><br>A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full- time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.<br><br>An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.<br><br>A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.<br><br>A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1”, “2”, “3”, or “4” above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.<br><br><strong>Preferred Skills<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience managing multiple projects in a large, complex organization. - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive operational efficiency. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including stakeholder engagement. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. - Ability to quickly learn and utilize internal systems and databases.<br><br></li></ul>55a Program<br><br>This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program.
