Amazon Sortation Center Warehouse Associate

Job Overview

You'll be part of the Amazon warehouse team sorting, scanning, and stacking customer orders by zip code for delivery. Attention to detail helps make sure every package reaches the right customer on time. The role is active - expect to be on your feet, lifting and moving packages throughout your shift.

Basic Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Understand and follow instructions in English
  • Lift up to 49 pounds
  • You must be able to pass a job assessment in English
  • Team lift packages above 50 pounds or greater than 90 inches
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts
  • Use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear such as personal protective equipment (PPE) to move items around
  • Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
  • Use step stool
  • Work at a height of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine (where applicable)

What You'll Do

  • Receive inventory and sort by zip code
  • Sort packages from conveyor belts
  • Stack packages and wrap pallets for deliveries
  • Use technology like scanners, computers, and handheld printer
  • Unload containers and packages from trailers
  • Load containers and packages into trailers

Schedule Options

  • Shift Options. Early Morning, Daytime, Evening, and Overnight.
  • Weekly Hours. Full-Time (40 hours), Reduced-Time, or Part-Time (20-29 hours).
  • Work-Life Balance. Opportunities for overtime when available.
  • Operating Hours. Our sites may operate 24/7, which means more shifts for you.
  • Onboarding Training. You'll complete on-the-job training during your first few days. In some cases, your training schedule will match the shift you selected. In other cases, you'll have a fixed training schedule before transitioning to your chosen schedule.

  • Physical Activity. Some activities may require standing in one place for long periods, walking around, or climbing stairs.

Work Conditions

  • Temperature. Climate-controlled facilities maintain temperatures between 60°F and 90°F in most areas.
  • Noise level. It can get noisy at times. We provide hearing protection if you need it.
  • Dress code. Relaxed and comfortable. Closed-toe shoes required. Protective safety footwear required in select areas. $110 Zappos gift code provided for your first day.
