With over 35 years of expertise, OMI is the world leader in manufacturing natural odor eliminating solutions for industrial, commercial, and consumer applications.</p><p><br></p><p>We are looking for a motivated Service Technician to join our growing team!</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>JOB PURPOSE</strong></u></p><p>The Service Technician is responsible for planning and executing service trips from a remote-based location, performing in-field system repairs, and ensuring reliable operation through electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and equipment testing. This role serves as a key technical resource for customers by providing remote and on-site support, identifying service needs before they become larger issues, and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role also partners closely with the sales team to support customers, identify opportunities for improved system performance, and help ensure equipment continues to meet customer and operational needs.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>SCHEDULE</strong></u></p><p>Monday – Friday, 7:30AM – 4:00PM EST</p><p><br></p><p>This is a remote-based position. As a Service Technician, hours may vary depending on service needs, travel schedules, and customer requirements. Overtime is expected when traveling or supporting customer needs.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY</strong></u></p><ul><li>Plan and coordinate service trips with customers and the sales team to ensure timely and effective support.</li><li>Travel directly from a remote-based location to customer sites to service, repair, maintain, and evaluate equipment.</li><li>Develop ongoing relationships with customers through regular site visits, proactive check-ins, and consistent follow-up.</li><li>Work with motors, fans, blowers, relays, timers, PLCs, and other industrial controls, including related mechanical systems</li><li>Conduct electrical wiring, service work, and assembly tasks to support system functionality.</li><li>Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative service visits to identify potential issues before they result in downtime.</li><li>Perform and document product performance and reliability testing in accordance with company standards.</li><li>Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned customer sites, providing guidance, troubleshooting support, and recommendations for improved equipment performance.</li><li>Provide technical assistance to customers and support the sales staff through phone consultations and on-site visits.</li><li>Execute additional duties as assigned to support operational and customer needs</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><p><u><strong>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES</strong></u></p><p>(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.)</p><ul><li>High school diploma; a trades certificate or associate degree with three or more years of relevant experience is preferred.</li><li>Possess a minimum of three years’ experience in product assembly, field service, testing, maintenance, controls, or electro-mechanical systems.</li><li>Demonstrate proficiency in reading schematics, engineered drawings, and blueprints.</li><li>Prior field service experience is preferred</li><li>Demonstrate strong mechanical and electro-mechanical aptitude.</li><li>Knowledge of motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, blowers, electrical devices, and controls.</li><li>Familiarity with hand tools and small power tools is required.</li><li>Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and management.</li><li>Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Expense Management is required.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.</li><li>Exhibit strong attention to detail and adherence to quality procedures.</li><li>Perform responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision while responding promptly to business and customer demands.</li><li>Meet all legal and security requirements.</li><li>Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.</li><li>Maintain a clean record without felony convictions for required security clearance.</li><li>Comply with background check and drug testing during onboarding and random intervals.</li><li>Demonstrate reliability, dependability, and consistent work habits.</li><li>Travel regularly from a remote-based location to customer sites, with an expectation of 70–80% time spent traveling or working on-site with customers.</li></ul><p><u><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/HAZARDOUS WORKING CONDITIONS</strong></u></p><p>(The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
