<h2>Overview</h2> <p>Advanced Technologies & Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) is hiring for a part-time Senior Engineer – (Health physicist – MACS)  for our NIOSH contract.</p> <p> </p> <p>The position serves as a health physicist responsible for carrying out a full range of complex public health practice and research activities. In addition, incumbent will have responsibility for providing technical consultation and assistance to Federal, State, local and other health agencies concerning various complex health physics related projects. </p> <h2>Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>This position has access to sensitive data and information such as radiological exposure data for Department of Defense personnel.</li> <li>Selects appropriate guidelines and determines which legal, regulatory and other requirements applicable to the particular radiation exposure assessment or situation.</li> <li>Independently plans projects to solve technical radiation exposure assessment problems for which definitions, methods, and/or radiation monitoring data are incomplete, controversial or uncertain.</li> <li>In some cases, this includes conducting literature reviews and research on past methods in order to develop innovative radiation dose estimation techniques for the purposes of establishing similar exposure groups and job exposure matrices.</li> <li>Conducts technical evaluations to assess the measured radiation exposure for individual and groups of workers.
