RFP PROPOSAL MANAGER (Independent Contractor, Remote, Open Worldwide)
Blue Goose Solutions | Oxon Hill, MD, USA

Blue Goose Solutions is a marketing, communications, and events firm that wins work through RFPs. We built our own AI platform, RFP Ready, to find opportunities and draft proposals in minutes. Our founder runs it himself today and is handing it to someone who is very good with AI tools.

What you'll do
- You run our RFP pipeline in RFP Ready. It finds and scores opportunities, and you confirm each one is real and decide what is worth chasing.
- You turn drafts into finished submissions. The platform writes a full draft in a few minutes from our stored team profiles and past work, and you check it against the instructions, tighten it, and fact check it. A typical submission takes about 30 minutes of your time.
- You send clarifying questions to issuers and make sure every submission follows the instructions exactly. A proposal that misses one instruction can be thrown out before anyone reads it, and that will never be us.
- You bring finished packages to our founder in review sessions every Monday and Friday, organized so he can approve them quickly. He gives final approval and sends each one.
- You coordinate with our specialists when a bid needs a designer or a videographer, and you collect their pricing.

What we're looking for
- You use AI tools in your work now and can tell when a draft is wrong or thin.
- You write clean, natural American English and you read instructions twice.
- You can keep 10 or more active pursuits on schedule without missing a deadline.
- You are good at managing up, which here means getting on the founder's calendar and walking him through a batch clearly.
- You can be available for a few hours each weekday during US Eastern business hours, because our deadlines and review sessions run on that clock.
- Experience with bids, proposals, grants, or government and nonprofit procurement is a plus.

Pay and terms
- This is an independent contractor role paid monthly in US dollars, with $2,500 a month guaranteed.
- The expected pace is eight to ten approved submissions a week once you are past the two week ramp.
- You earn $500 for every contract we are awarded while you are on contract with us.
- We start with a 90 day trial. In the first month we look at your pace and accuracy, and by day 90 we expect shortlists or awards from your submissions.

Plan on 10 to 15 hours a week, which includes team meetings and the review sessions. The platform counts approved submissions automatically, so the numbers are never a debate.

To apply, send a short note on why this fits you, one writing sample, a few lines on how you use AI in your work today, and your availability to info@bluegoose.co.

Pay: $2,500.00 per month

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
