You will work closely with commercial leadership and collaborate with other senior leaders across the organization to develop and execute strategies and initiatives that contribute to the overall performance, culture and success of the organization. </p><p></p><p>The Regional Sales Director will be a working leader with a player/coach mentality. The successful candidate will participate in field-based activities, including but not limited to shared ownership of high value regional accounts and relationships with local thought leaders. The Regional Sales Director will be adept at understanding analytics, market research and local geographic trends to identify business opportunities and create comprehensive and detailed business plans for execution at launch. It is expected that the RSD will display a high level of collaboration with <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">colleagues/stakeholders</span> to develop materials and customer-focused initiatives targeted for a diverse range of healthcare professionals. </p><p></p><p><b>Position Responsibilities:</b> </p><ul><li><p>Source, recruit and hire a team of Area Business Managers who are responsible for driving sales results while effectively and compliantly promoting company’s product(s) to targeted HCPs and other healthcare professionals. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Drive performance of region and lead by example as a working leader, meeting with top regional accounts and HCPs/staff. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Work collaboratively and compliantly with cross-functional field facing partners to develop internal and external customer focused initiatives and deliver a positive customer experience and engagement. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Review and analyze district performance and market data in order to develop sales strategies to meet or exceed sales objectives. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Drive performance while developing individual contributors on teams through an established coaching and development plan. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Manage performance issues with parity and a sense of urgency. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to create culture that attracts and retains top talent while driving sales results. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Lead by example to master and display high level of clinical acumen; accountability for self and team to demonstrate mastery level of clinical knowledge, including assessments. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Demonstrate patient centric mindset. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Monitor and ensure utilization of sales and marketing tools and other resources provided to educate healthcare professionals on company’s product(s). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Establish and cultivate strategic relationships with physicians and other healthcare professionals within designated geography (working leader). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Attend all company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed by management; attend live conferences and/or programs as necessary as a Madrigal <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">representative. </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Comply with all legal, regulatory and compliance policies and demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism at all times. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Spearhead cross-functional collaboration and serve as an advocate for customer engagement model. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Additional duties as required. </p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications and Skills </b></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s degree required. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>5+ years of first-line management experience. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>10+ years of <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical,</span> medical or related sales experience. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>GI/Hepatology experience strongly preferred </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Prior launch experience is required </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Local experience, track record of success, and access to relevant regional thought leaders within assigned region strongly preferred </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to utilize performance and market data to create actionable business plans to drive sales results. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Demonstrated track record of leading successful sales leaders and teams in an environment requiring a high level of initiative, accountability and ethical and compliant actions. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to learn complex scientific and technical information and effectively communicate to a broad audience of healthcare professionals. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Strong communication skills, including proven ability to successfully influence in the virtual setting. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Collaborative, working leader mindset. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>A valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed (including overnights and/or weekends) <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">is required.  </span></p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Overnight travel up to 50-65% is expected, depending on regional boundaries. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Frequent travel between meeting sites, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods of time. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Frequent use of a computer, telephone, printer or other office equipment. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. </p></li></ul><p></p><p>#LI-Remote</p><p></p><p>Madrigal’s Total Rewards strategy is based on a biotech industry peer group comparator and is inclusive of base pay, bonus and equity.
