Your success is not just a professional goal; it's our shared commitment.</p><br><h1><b><u>Job Description</u></b></h1><br>The Senior Project Accountant is responsible for leading proper billing, revenue and reconciliation duties for the projects under their purview and ensuring compliance with GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards. This role serves as a key resource within the accounting team, partnering cross-functionally with operations, project management, account management, and leadership to support accurate financial reporting, process improvements, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for supporting the full project lifecycle, including project setup, revenue recognition, cost tracking and full project reconciliation at the close of the project. The Senior Project Accountant exercises independent judgment, supports strategic initiatives, and assists in mentoring and guiding team members.<h1><br></h1><h1><b><u>Job Description Details:</u></b></h1><br><p></p><p><b>Scope of Work</b></p><ul><li><span>Own and manage revenue accounting for assigned business unit(s) (Travel & Events and Performance Solutions), including daily operational support and monthly close activities </span></li><li><span>Ensure compliance with ASC 606 GAAP revenue recognition standards and proper matching of revenue and expenses based on contractual obligations and services delivered </span></li><li><span>Review and analyze complex client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment and accounting implications </span></li><li><span>Prepare, review, and approve complex client and supplier invoices while ensuring accuracy and timeliness </span></li><li><span>Lead month-end close activities related to revenue accounting, including accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement support </span></li><li><span>Research and resolve discrepancies related to billing, revenue recognition, and client reporting </span></li><li><span>Prepare and review ad hoc financial reports, KPI reporting, forecasting analysis, and operational metrics </span></li><li><span>Partner with auditors by preparing requested schedules, supporting documentation, and assisting in remediation of audit findings </span></li><li><span>Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy within the accounting function </span></li><li><span>Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving SOPs, policies, process documentation, and revenue accounting flowcharts </span></li><li><span>Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, project management, and account management teams to improve billing and revenue processes </span></li><li><span>Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and support cross-functional training initiatives </span></li><li><span>Assist leadership with special projects, strategic initiatives, and process optimization efforts </span></li><li><span>Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to dashboards, automation, and reporting cadence </span></li><li><span>Participate in cross training, documentation, and onboarding efforts. </span></li><li><span>Motivated to recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and the close cycle time.  </span></li><li><span>Embraces AI tools and approach to streamline workstreams with the goal of best practices delivery to internal and external clients.</span></li><li><span>Perform other duties as assigned</span></li></ul><br><h1><b><u>Additional Job Description Details</u></b></h1><br><p></p><p><b>Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities</b></p><ul><li><span>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required </span></li><li><span>5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within revenue accounting, billing, or project-based accounting environments </span></li><li><span>Strong understanding and practical application of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards </span></li><li><span>Experience with ERP/accounting systems required; Workday experience preferred </span></li><li><span>Experience with <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">percentage-of-completion</span> (POC) billing and complex contract analysis </span></li><li><span>Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills </span></li><li><span>Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines </span></li><li><span>Excellent organizational and time management skills </span></li><li><span>Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills </span></li><li><span>Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders, including executive leadership </span></li><li><span>Demonstrated success working cross-functionally and independently in a fast-paced environment </span></li><li><span>Experience leading process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations </span></li><li><span>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.</span></li><li><span>Ability to identify operational risks and recommend practical solutions to improve controls and efficiencies </span></li><li><span>Prior experience mentoring or training team members is preferred</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><span>#LI-Remote​</span>​​</p><h1></h1><h1><b><u>Maximum Base Pay</u></b></h1><br>80,000.00 USD
