Job Summary

The Private Markets Analyst on the Finerty Team will support the evaluation, execution, and monitoring of private market investments across private equity, private real estate, private credit, and related alternative strategies. The role sits at the intersection of investment research, due diligence, and portfolio analysis, working closely with senior investment professionals to support manager selection and capital allocation decisions. This position is ideal for a highly analytical, technologically savvy, and intellectually curious candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is seeking broad exposure to private markets investing and portfolio construction.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct manager and fund due diligence across private equity, private credit, private real estate, and other private market strategies.
  • Build and maintain financial models, return analyses, and scenario analyses to support investment decisions.
  • Prepare client reports, Investment Committee materials, and portfolio reviews.
  • Analyze fund structures, fee mechanics, liquidity terms, and risk profiles.
  • Research market trends, sectors, and peer managers to identify opportunities and competitive differentiation.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, track cash flows, and analyze investment results.
  • Interface with external managers, advisors, and service providers as responsibilities expand.
  • Contribute to platform development, including process improvements, data organization, and analytical tool enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, asset management, or a related field.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with advanced AI tools or demonstrated aptitude for developing this skill set.
  • Exposure to private equity, private credit, or alternative investments.
  • Experience with PitchBook, Preqin, Burgiss, or similar data platforms is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
