Job Description:

The Principal Cloud Platform Engineer serves as the organization's foremost technical authority on cloud platforms, providing strategic direction and thought leadership. This role defines enterprise cloud architecture standards, drives innovation, and ensures alignment between technology capabilities and business objectives. The principal engineer operates at the highest level of technical complexity, solving the most challenging problems and making architecture decisions with organization-wide impact. While not a people manager, this position provides technical leadership across multiple teams, mentors senior engineers, and represents the organization in industry forums. The principal engineer evaluates emerging technologies, establishes proof-of-concepts, and makes recommendations that shape the organization's multi-year cloud strategy.

 

This role requires three days on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) at Temple Health Women's and Families Hospital.

 

Education

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field Required or

Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required

 

Experience

  • 10+ years' experience with progressive cloud engineering and extensive experience as a senior architect or principal engineer Required
  • General Experience with proven track record of enterprise-scale cloud transformations Required
  • General Experience with industry recognition through publications, speaking engagements, or open-source contributions Required
  • General Experience and an unparalleled depth of knowledge with cloud architecture Required
  • General Experience and mastery of multiple cloud platforms and hybrid architectures Required
  • General Experience with outstanding technical leadership and influence and exceptional strategic thinking/vision Required
  • General Experience in advanced research and evaluation Required
  • General Experience problem-solving complex technical challenges Required
  • General Experience and deep understanding of business and technology alignment with an ability to anticipate future technology trend Required
