Kubernetes Engineer - Remote Remote Job | 05/01/26 Job Description Job Title Kubernetes Engineer Location Remote Mode Contract (6+ Months) Job Description, Execute routine operational tasks in Kubernetes and cloud environments by following established runbooks and standard operating procedures, ensuring platform stability and compliance with best practices. Monitor cluster health and performance, track key metrics, and respond to system alerts; perform initial troubleshooting of Kubernetes workloads and nodes, and promptly escalate complex issues to L2 engineers when necessary. Deployment & CI/CD Support Assist with application deployments on Kubernetes clusters, following defined processes to help roll out updates and new releases in coordination with senior engineers. Support CI/CD pipeline executions (e.g., using GitLab CI, Ansible, Terraform, Helm), ensuring deployment jobs run smoothly and in accordance with change management guidelines and branching strategies. Incident Response & Troubleshooting Respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests in a timely manner, performing initial triage and remediation steps as directed by runbooks or supervisors. Coordinate with senior engineers during incidents, providing clear information, gathering logs and metrics (using tools like kubectl and cloud dashboards), and assisting in root cause analysis while learning from every incident. Documentation & Runbook Management Maintain and update technical documentation, including operational runbooks, knowledge base articles, and troubleshooting guides in collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence). Ensure all procedures and fixes are well-documented for future reference and team use. Adhere to IT service management processes, accurately logging activities and resolutions in tools like ServiceNow or Jira, and contribute to improving documentation as systems and processes evolve. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with offshore L2 teams, ensuring effective knowledge handover and collaboration. Engage in regular meetings with global colleagues to discuss ongoing issues, share updates, and verify that resolved issues remain fixed. Contribute to process improvements by identifying repetitive manual tasks suitable for automation or optimization. Share insights and suggestions with the team to enhance operational efficiency and reliability over time. REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Experience in a Kubernetes, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure support role (entry-level/associate level). Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, Amazon Linux 2) and basic system administration skills in a cloud or data center environment. Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI, Ansible, Terraform, and Helm, with a foundational understanding of how code is built, tested, and deployed. Basic experience with public cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), including familiarity with core services and any hands-on project or internship experience on cloud infrastructure. Proficiency with command-line tools such as kubectl for Kubernetes management, container tools like Docker/nerdctl, version control systems (Git/GitLab), and basic use of cloud CLIs (AWS CLI and/or Azure CLI). Foundational knowledge of Kubernetes concepts - understanding of Pods, Deployments, Services, and Ingress; basic exposure to managing or using Kubernetes clusters (including managed services like Amazon EKS or Azure AKS). Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools, including code repositories and basic branching/merging strategies using Git or platforms like GitLab. Experience with ITSM and documentation tools, such as logging incidents and changes in ServiceNow or Jira, and using Confluence or similar platforms for knowledge sharing.
