Description Internship period : 4 Jan 2027 - 30 June 2027

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • APAC — Data Center Supply Solutions
  • 6-month placement AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables — and we're looking for talented people who want to help. You'll join a diverse team of supply chain specialists, operations managers, security and engineering experts, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them.
About The Infrastructure Partner Management (IPM) Team AWS doesn't only run its own data centers. It also places infrastructure inside data centers owned and operated by external providers — known as "colocation" partners. The IPM team manages these partnerships from the AWS side, across the whole life of a site, from the day a contract is signed to the day the site is closed. We are the bridge between the AWS teams who run the data centers and the partners who host them. We work to make sure both sides deliver on what was agreed, and that the partnership runs smoothly day to day. We measure performance against agreed service levels (SLAs) so that it's transparent and objective for everyone, and when challenges come up we help bring the right people together to resolve them.

Above all, we invest in strong, trusted relationships — understanding how each partner operates, working through problems together, and finding solutions that work for both sides, so our shared customers can depend on the infrastructure.

The Work Falls Into a Few Repeating Cycles

  • Business reviews. We run a regular Colocation Business Review (CBR) program — scheduled meetings with each partner to review performance against agreed service levels (SLAs) and align on actions together.
  • Relationship management. We build long-term, trusted relationships with each partner — understanding how they operate, working through challenges together, and finding the win-win — so the partnership stays healthy well beyond any single review.
  • Performance tracking. Between reviews, we track service levels, open action items, and follow through to resolution.
  • Issue resolution. When a challenge comes up between AWS teams and a partner, we help bring the right people together and work it through.
  • Commercial oversight. We manage our colocation contracts so that all parties are clear on their commitments and delivering against them.
  • Continuous improvement. We keep reviewing our own ways of working and build better processes — including automation — so the team runs more efficiently over time.
This is not a hands-on engineering or on-site operations job. It's about working with data, supporting partner reviews, and learning how AWS manages and strengthens its colocation partnerships. About The Role This 6-month placement supports the IPM team. You won't own a partner portfolio on your own — you'll work alongside experienced Infrastructure Partner Managers, take on well-defined pieces of real work, and always have an IPM close by to guide and review what you produce.

No two days look the same, but a typical one pulls from the cycles above. You might spend the morning preparing for a partner business review — pulling service-level data into the review pack — then sit in on the review itself to see how the partnership is managed in practice.

The afternoon might turn to data: tidying up an export, spotting a trend across a few sites, and writing a line on what it tells us. Along the way you'll help keep our records up to date, follow up on open actions, and make progress on your own improvement project with your mentor. The throughline is simple — you're supporting and learning, not owning the partner relationships.

Key job responsibilities

Supporting business reviews

  • Help set up and prepare Colocation Business Reviews (CBRs) — building the data packs, pulling service-level numbers, and drafting the summary slides the IPM presents
  • Sit in on reviews to learn how the partnerships are managed, and capture the actions that come out of them
  • Help draft one-pagers — short summary documents for a business review or a specific topic — pulling the facts together for an IPM to review and finalise
  • Help develop automation that supports the team's business reviews
Tracking and follow-up
  • Help keep action items and open topics up to date in our tracking systems, and follow up so nothing slips
  • Track service-level performance across sites and partners, and surface anything that needs an IPM's attention
Commercial and data/AI work
  • Help build and maintain simple trackers, contract/obligation lists, and dashboards
  • Pull and clean data, surfacing insights or trends the team can take clear, objective action on
Learning the wider role
  • Work with AWS teams — Safety, Security, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Business Development — to see how the partnerships are managed day to day
  • Sit in on partner conversations beyond the formal reviews, and see how IPMs build trust and work through challenges collaboratively
  • Support one process-improvement or automation project end to end, with a defined outcome and a mentor

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
