<h2>Overview</h2> <p>Advanced Technologies & Laboratories International, Inc. (ATL) is hiring a Health & Safety Specialist (IH – MACS) for our NIOSH contract. .</p> <h2>Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Data management, data analysis, and business analysis needs within the DFSE program portfolio focusing on cancer related research projects for firefighter and military personnel.</li> <li>Monitoring and analysis of the National Firefighter Registry for Cancer (NFR) database for reporting participation rates and summary statistics to NIOSH leadership, fire departments, congress, and other key stakeholders as requested.</li> <li>Responsibilities associated with administrative functions of the NFR enrollment system, such as troubleshooting problems encountered by participants, notifying participants of new information, and testing new features or services.</li> <li>Data sharing and quality assurance procedures, which are required components of the work and critical for ensuring privacy and confidentiality.</li> <li>Conduct analyses of firefighter health and/or exposure data, including analyses of new and existing datasets, and summarize and interpret the results in reports or publications.</li> <li>Provide subject matter expertise in military aviation, including occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes.</li> <li>Provide expert review of, or contribution, to job groupings into similar exposure groups. Industrial hygienists and health physicists needed to review job titles and tasks and conduct expert ratings/rankings of occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes.</li> <li>Contribute to a comprehensive literature review of potential aviation-related hazards in both military and commercial aviation and support crew activities.</li> <li>Assistance in developing job exposure matrices which takes into account uncertainty from expert assessments. Several job exposure matrices will be developed:</li> <li>Develop a job exposure matrix quantifying exposure to ionizing radiation associated with high altitude flight.</li> <li>Develop a job exposure matrix quantifying exposure to nonionizing radiation associated with airborne, ground, and shipboard radars</li> <li>Develop job exposure matrices quantifying exposures to carcinogens associated with military flight operations from shipboard or land bases or facilities, such as fuels, fumes, and other liquids.</li> <li>Manuscript preparation in collaboration with NIOSH scientists.</li> </ul> <h2>Minimum Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>MS degree or higher in epidemiology, industrial/occupational hygiene, or related field</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Technical/Business Tools Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) </li> <li>Communication tools (Teams, SharePoint)</li> </ul> <h2>Company Benefits</h2> <p>PSI offers full-time, benefits eligible employees a competitive total compensation package that includes paid leave, and options for employer sponsored group medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, AD&D coverage, legal services, identity theft, and accident insurance.
