About UPS & Our Culture

The UPS name on the door means something — and the associates who work behind it are the reason it continues to mean something to millions of customers every single day. Our UPS fulfillment associate positions sit at the center of the most advanced package logistics operation in the world, inside facilities built with cutting-edge conveyor technology, real-time tracking systems, and a safety culture that the rest of the industry consistently benchmarks against. When you search for fulfillment associate jobs near me, you are searching for more than a warehouse shift — you are searching for a career with a Teamsters union contract behind every hour you work and a pension growing every quarter you stay.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"I compared three fulfillment associate offers before choosing UPS and it was not close. The union wage was higher, the benefits were real, and the training program actually prepared me for the job before I was expected to hit targets. Six months in I have my own sort area assignment, I know the belt like the back of my hand, and my paycheck is the strongest it has ever been at any job I have held. UPS fulfillment associate work is exactly what a good warehouse job should look like." - Current Fulfillment Associate, Phoenix, AZ.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Fulfillment Associate, you support the full daily workflow of our fulfillment center — processing inbound volume, maintaining sort floor accuracy, and staging outbound shipments — rotating across functions as directed by your area supervisor to keep throughput balanced and the network running on schedule.

  • Inbound Package Processing: Receive and scan inbound packages from arriving trailers, verifying routing barcodes against the digital inbound manifest and inducting every parcel into the sort system without delay or error at the start of each sort window.
  • Sort Floor Coverage: Support peak belt throughput by covering assigned sort positions during high-volume windows, reading destination labels and diverting packages accurately to outbound chutes and trailer lanes at a sustained production rate.
  • Outbound Staging: Move completed sort output — shrink-wrapped pallets and loose freight containers — to assigned outbound dock positions using hand trucks and pallet jacks, verifying load counts against the outbound manifest before the dock door closes.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Fulfillment Associates receive Teamsters union wages with contractual annual raises, full medical, dental, and vision coverage from the first day of eligibility, a defined-benefit pension, paid personal days, and the UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance program covering up to $25,000 in college costs. Weekly direct-deposit paychecks are standard from your very first shift on the floor.
