Position Details

  • Styles: Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, and Acro
  • Age Groups: Students ages 5-16 (class sizes limited to 12 students maximum)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, late afternoon to evening hours
  • Starting Pay: $30 per hr (rate increases based on experience, certifications, and performance)
  • Additional Opportunities: Private lessons and masterclass instruction

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging dance classes that promote technical skill, artistic expression, and physical fitness while maintaining a lively and motivating atmosphere.
  • Create original choreography for performances and special events that showcase students’ talents and progress.
  • Manage classroom dynamics effectively by applying behavior management techniques and fostering a respectful, inclusive environment for all learners.
  • Provide individualized tutoring and feedback to help students improve their technique and confidence in dancing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on performance productions.
  • Maintain detailed lesson plans, progress records, and assessments to track student development and tailor instruction accordingly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in teaching dance or choreography with a strong background in related styles.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages.
  • Strong communication skills for instructing students clearly and providing constructive feedback.
