We reserve the ability to adjust the final compensation for this role based on the final candidate’s experience, skillset, certifications, and geography.</p> <p>The Role</p> <p>HuffPost is seeking a Culture Reporter who can provide sharp and quick pop-culture reporting and analysis, own our weekly entertainment newsletter, and help grow our regular audience for culture coverage. This team is based in New York City, but we are also open to remote applicants.</p> <p>You Will</p> <ul> <li> <p>Keep up with an entertainment calendar to cover TV/film/music etc. in a timely manner.</p> </li> <li> <p>Generate creative takes on the most talked-about entertainment stories, with an original angle.</p> </li> <li> <p>Identify and cover emerging trends and social media moments and help define HuffPost as a destination for that topic.</p> </li> <li> <p>Produce clean and structurally sound reporting and criticism.</p> </li> <li> <p>Contribute news items and/or analysis for tentpole events including awards shows, heritage months, anniversaries, and other big moments in the pop-culture space.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ideally, be comfortable with occasionally representing HuffPost at events and in the press.</p> </li> <li> <p>Work with the audience team to package stories in smart and creative ways: sharp headline writing, SEO optimization, art and graphics selection, social media promotional language, etc.</p> </li> </ul> <p>Part of what makes BuzzFeed a pioneer in digital media is our commitment to exploring new ventures that lead to spreading truth and joy.
