About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building artificial intelligence. Specialists analyze information, prepare examples, evaluate model outputs, and validate scenarios so AI systems can perform more reliably. This rapidly growing field gives people with technical and industry expertise a direct role in shaping how modern AI is developed.

  • Apply practical systems expertise to AI training data and scenarios
  • Contribute to the design and validation of examples used in AI development
  • Use your professional knowledge in flexible, remote project work

The Computer Systems Analyst Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Computer Systems Analyst to apply systems analysis and technical consulting expertise to AI training work. You will examine complex systems and business processes, clarify opportunities for improvement, and contribute domain knowledge to the design and validation of AI training data and scenarios.

This role combines requirements work, process modeling, SQL analysis, troubleshooting, and quality-focused collaboration. Although the source listing categorizes the opportunity as entry level, the stated requirements call for at least five years of experience as a Computer Systems Analyst or in a closely related technical consulting role.

  • Employment type: Contractor and part time
  • Time requirement: 20 or more hours per week
  • Pay range: $60 to $120 per hour
  • Work location: Remote for US-based professionals

What You’ll Do

You will analyze systems and business processes, translate stakeholder needs into technical direction, and help maintain the quality of AI training deliverables. The work requires careful reasoning, practical troubleshooting, and effective virtual collaboration with project managers, developers, and other professionals.

  • Analyze computer systems and business processes to identify improvement and innovation opportunities
  • Gather, document, and validate requirements from diverse stakeholders
  • Develop detailed business process models using methodologies such as BPMN and UML
  • Use SQL to extract, analyze, and interpret data for process optimization and issue resolution
  • Diagnose technical challenges and propose actionable solutions for platform development
  • Collaborate virtually with project managers, developers, and other professionals
  • Support the design and validation of AI training data and scenarios
  • Help maintain deliverable quality through careful review and collaboration

Required Qualifications

Applicants should bring substantial systems analysis or technical consulting experience, strong requirements and process-modeling skills, and advanced SQL capability. You should be comfortable converting complex business needs into technical specifications and actionable insights.

  • At least five years of experience as a Computer Systems Analyst or in a closely related technical consulting role
  • Strong systems analysis and requirements elicitation capabilities
  • Expertise with business process modeling, including BPMN or UML
  • Advanced SQL proficiency for analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively on remote projects

Helpful Background

Experience supporting technology-driven transformation or AI-related initiatives is helpful, but prior AI experience is not required. Professionals with strong computer systems and business process expertise can bring valuable perspective to AI training even when they are new to the field.

  • Technology transformation experience is helpful
  • AI initiative experience is helpful but not required
  • Practical knowledge of computer systems and business processes is central to the work

Why Build an AI Training Career
