About the Role In order to achieve its ambition of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate, Recruitment - BravenX, who will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling 500+ Fellows (students) into the BravenX Accelerator course per semester. To achieve these results, you will recruit and manage a team of part-time student recruitment interns and Braven Student Ambassadors. You will work closely with Central and Regional recruitment teams to help you reach your goals. In all of this, you will contribute to building and maintaining a positive presence of Braven among our BravenX partners (most of whom are national or regional nonprofit organizations) This role is on the BravenX Team and reports directly to the Senior Director, BravenX. What You’ll Do Student Recruitment and Enrollment (40%) • Develop vision, strategy, and plans to effectively enroll and retain 500+ students a semester into the Braven course • Use Salesforce and Google Suite to manage recruitment data, operations, and pipelines • Analyze recruitment data weekly to inform recruiting and partner support strategy • Organize and support recruitment presentations and materials • Host recruitment events in order to source prospective students • Recruit and manage a team of student interns and volunteers Stakeholder Management (30%) • Support the cultivation and management of BravenX nonprofit stakeholders who act as the pipeline for Fellow recruitment (national and regional college access organizations, K12 alumni programs, small universities/colleges, etc.) • Manage and provide support to stakeholders in order to support them in reaching their individual Fellow enrollment goals (weekly progress-to-goal updates, brainstorming new tactics, holding recruitment check-in meetings, attending partner events, etc.) • Assess the strategies employed and make informed improvements based on quantitative, qualitative, and anecdotal data gathered to present to key stakeholders. Social Media and Marketing (15%) • Share design input and feedback with Braven’s External Affairs team on marketing materials • Collect and share compelling stories with the Communications Team and External Affairs Team • Support the Social Media and Marketing Committee • Develop a social media recruitment strategy with the Communications and Recruitment interns Team Management and Culture (15%) • Participate in individual annual and quarterly planning and all-team events • Recruit, hire, onboard, and manage part-time student interns • Recruit and train student volunteers known as Braven Ambassadors • Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements • Education Bachelor’s Degree • Work Experience At least 1 year of experience with a track record of success in recruitment and/or marketing. Preferred Qualifications • At least 1 year of experience in the non-profit field • Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Salesforce, Asana • Ability to quickly build positive working relationships and identify strategically important relationships • Excellent communication, facilitation, and public speaking skills • Experience coaching and mentoring students in career development • Experience managing and developing people, particularly managing through others • Proven ability to create, operationalize, and manage project plans, meeting milestones and deadlines • Track record of using data and metrics to drive decisions and measure performance • High degree of flexibility and adaptability, excels in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and is comfortable with ambiguity • Exemplification of Braven’s core values • Experiences that have informed your belief in Braven’s mission and prepared you to work with or for Braven’s student Fellow population Please know that no one ever meets 100% of the preferred qualifications. Work Demands • Ability to work in-person in New York City at least 3 days per week • Ability to attend evening events as needed such as partner information sessions or Learning Lab • Travel to travel to 2-3 stakeholder events per semester in core BravenX regions (NYC, Atlanta & Newark) • Physical requirements include lifting and carrying up 20-50 pounds for various recruitment events (tabling, presentations, etc.) Additional Requirements • Authorized to work in the U.S. • Braven doesn’t offer employment visa sponsorship Application & Interview Process While the interview process may vary slightly, the general process will be • Phone screen with Talent Team member • Performance Task • Interview with Hiring Manager • Panel Interview with Key Partners • Reference Checks Compensation and Benefits Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead, each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. Starting salary within the range is determined by role scope and qualifications, with new hires starting at the lower end to allow for growth with performance. Braven does not base compensation on individual candidate salary expectations and is committed to maintaining internal equity. The salary ranges, by geographic market, for this role are set forth $69,000-$86,200 in New York City. This is based on a 50-hour work week. This is a full-time, regular, exempt, and benefits-eligible position where you will be working at 100% capacity. Braven also provides competitive, comprehensive benefits, recognition, and career development. While Braven reserves the right to change benefits at any time, current benefits include • Unlimited vacation time in addition to org-wide holidays and three team-wide, week-long shutdowns in Spring, Summer, and Winter (this is a minimum of 24 days per year) • Braven supports your path to parenthood and beyond with $25,000 in lifetime Carrot benefits for fertility, family-building, and hormonal health • Match of your 401K contribution up to 5% of your base annual salary, starting your first full month • Coverage of 85% of health insurance premium for employee and dependents • A one-month paid sabbatical after 4 years on staff Location We gather in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) and work remotely 2 days a week (Monday and Friday). Each teammate can use at least two flex days per week of their choosing to work remotely.
