## Asset Protection & Safety Manager At Lowe's, we're committed to delivering quality customer service while keeping our stores clean, safe, and fully stocked. As an Asset Protection & Safety Manager (APSM), you'll play a key role in making that happen. You'll work closely with our Store Operational Leadership team to ensure customers receive friendly, professional, and timely service—and you'll help maintain a secure environment for both customers and associates. Your responsibilities will span a variety of areas. You'll monitor receiving, shipping, and selling patterns to spot and address shrink. You'll champion safety initiatives and help establish processes and controls that improve safety, hazmat compliance, and security outcomes. When it comes to loss prevention, you'll be the go-to person for monitoring and solving criminal activities, coaching and training associates, and keeping a close eye on inventory levels. In the event of violent altercations, you'll need to respond quickly to keep everyone safe. As a Safety Manager, you'll be considered the expert on safety reports, guidelines, and regulations. This role is based in California, MD (St Mary's County). It's an hourly, full-time position, generally scheduled for 39 to 40 hours per week. You'll need to be available mornings, afternoons, and evenings any day of the week, since store needs can vary. While regular travel isn't required, there may be occasional opportunities to attend meetings, trainings, or support neighboring stores. The physical demands are important to consider: you should be able to perform tasks that involve prolonged standing and sitting, and you must be able to lift at least 25 pounds without assistance, with the ability to lift over 25 pounds with or without help. ### What You'll Need to Succeed To qualify for this role, you'll need a Bachelor's Degree or higher, or a High School Diploma (or equivalent) along with at least 3 years of relevant work experience—such as in retail or asset protection. While not required, we'd love to see: - A Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Safety, Business, or a related Asset Protection field - Completion of a national certified training program (for example, Wicklander - Zuwalski or Reed training) - Professional accreditation like APQ or APC, or equivalent experience - 2 years of experience directly or indirectly supervising employees, including coaching, mentoring, directing, training, performance management, and recognition - 2 years of experience as a manager in a retail environment - 1 year of experience conducting quality reviews and audits - Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (like P&L or exception reports) - Experience conducting retail investigations, with a track record of handling multiple investigations - Familiarity with physical security systems such as CCTV and EAS ### Compensation & Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 to $25.00 per hour. Starting pay may vary based on factors such as the specific position, location, education, training, and experience. We're proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package for eligible full-time and part-time associates, designed to support different lifestyles. Depending on your role, tenure, and location, benefits may include: - Health, dental, and vision insurance - Life and disability insurance - Paid time off, including vacation, holidays, sick leave, and volunteer time - Flexible spending and health savings accounts - 401(k) with company match - Employee Assistance Program with concierge services and no-cost counseling - Education support programs, including tuition assistance and trade skills scholarships - Business travel accident insurance - Maternity and parental leave, plus adoption assistance - Lowe's Associate Discount and a broad discount platform - Additional discretionary benefits, such as annual bonuses, enrollment in Lowe's Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and deferred compensation plan, depending on eligibility ### About Lowe's Lowe's Companies, Inc. This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
